Moths in Warehouse

Stored product pests can be a major nuisance, especially financially. This classification of pest lays it’s eggs in and around the location where the larvae feed and can destroy millions of dollars of product in a short amount of time. The most common stored product pest we come across are Indian Meal Moths, the adults lay their eggs inside of grains; the eggs hatch and the larvae consume the grain from the inside out.

Also common are webbing clothes moths which consume natural fibers found in clothing, carpet, drapes, upholstery and bedding.

The best way to eliminate a stored product pest infestation is to immediately quarantine and eliminate the infested product. If the infestation has spread a chemical treatment may be necessary.

Monitoring for stored product pests is surprisingly cost effective, pheromone stations attract adult males and will give pest control professionals early insight into an infestation before it overtakes a facility.
